Даљинско управљање

На изложби електричних апарата у Медисон Сквер Гардену, Никола Тесла је извео импресиван експеримент. Користећи радио таласе, даљински је управљао кретањем свог модела брода, пружајући посетиоцима прилику да први пут виде бежично управљање уређајем.

Тесла је назвао овај уређај “телеаутоматон” и сматрао га претечом робота. Инспирацију је црпео из људског тела, ума и наше способности да доносимо одлуке на основу спољних утицаја. Функционисање уређаја базирало се на генерисању радио таласа одређене фреквенције који су преносили команде са даљинског управљача до антене на броду, подешене да прими сигнале на тој фреквенцији.

У каснијим патентима, Тесла је унапредио начин управљања. Омогућио је истовремени пренос два сигнала различитих фреквенција путем упарених антена на броду. У овом случају, телеаутоматон би реаговао на команде само када би регистровао оба сигнала истовремено. Ово побољшање је повећало отпорност на ометање и осигурало поуздану размену сигнала. Тесла је, несвесно, описао принцип рада логичког “и” кола, који данас чини основу многих рачунара.
